The Very Latest Developments
The July 2000 Update!I expect that all the readers are busy sunning themselves on golden beaches at the moment, and couldn't care less about chess openings, but that won't stop me from doing my update! Especially since this month brings a game featuring Dunst's Opening, between two of the best players in the world!

English Opening
1...e5
I am always wary of playing reversed Sicilians myself, as the extra tempo should give White better perspectives, but TK185 shows the attraction.
White avoids being mated by a hair's breadth in TK187.
Positionally-correct play often gets its just reward, TK191 is a fine example.
TK194 is another game that shows that the discovered check is a deadly weapon.
1...c5
A speculative double-pawn sac succeeds in TK186.
Black tries to stop White from playing d4 in TK188, but when White does manage to play this, it appears even more effective.
Kramnik applies the big squeeze in TK189, but his opponent's defence is first-rate.
Taking poisoned pawns can be a risky business, as TK192 demonstrates.
In TK193 White opens the h-file, then changes his mind and tries to defend his queenside from his opponent's attack, then brings his pieces back to the kingside again for the (near-)decisive assault
1...Nf6 & others
TK195 features another Krasenkow 'blitzkrieg'.
Other first moves
Who would dare play the Dunst against the World number one? The answer is in TK190.
