Grand Prix 2 Nc3 d6 3 f4 g6 4 d4!? [B23]

A twist in the Grand Prix move-order is explored in the game Nakumura-Castellanos with the American teenager winning in fine style with the white pieces.

Chernov-Bargan is another look at the merits of playing an early d4 depending on Black's set-up and once again the result is encouraging. For some balance Thesing-Wahls sees Black fighting through the complications and a bit of luck is enough to be victorious.

In the game Plaskett-Relange, White embarks one of his trademark attacks that has Black reeling but the killer punch is lacking.
