Oct '99 Update
Check out declining the Marshall with the dangeous 4...Bb4, or how about a new idea in the Noteboom. Find out which line is causing Black problems in the Botvinnik and watch a QGA expert blown away in dramatic fashion with a stunning new idea. Another crucial question: What is Black's latest antidote to the treacherous Anti-Moscow gambit? And enjoy some more Meran maulings, although, as a leading expert almost embarassingly finds to his cost, it's not all plain sailing for Black...
Meran
RS97 Digging into old analyses White fiendishly unleashes an improvement on a leading Meraan expert, which seems to completely reverse the assessment of a line which had been known to be favourable for Black and almost forgotten.
RS96 One of the biggest Meran experts finds himself in a must-win situation with Black. Here he takes his less experienced opponent by surprise with a very old and interesting continuation.
Marshall
RS88 The very latest in the Marshall, featuring the unusual but playable 4...Bb4, declining the gambit. Just a poor French for Black, you might think. Well, here White plays as if it was a French... and is annihilated in 21 moves. Just take a look, and then surprise your opponents!
Noteboom
RS89 looks at a new idea in the main line of the Noteboom, 1999 style. Black players especially need to be aware of this novelty, as it is sure to be played again. Far too early for a verdict on such cutting edge stuff; all the more reason for some private investigation!
RS90 A very interesting game amd a totally convincing win for the World Junior Champion. Has the recent 8 Rb1 trend simply been a flash in the pan? This game certainly would suggest it may well be; White is simply taken apart.
Botvinnik
RS91 In this highly theoretical line, Black is forced to struggle for equality for 60 moves. Botvinnik players need to be aware of this new idea, or suffer similar torture.
RS92 The same new idea again, another equalising attempt, and another struggle for the Semi-Slavist. Black needs to make this line more fun to play, but researching this state-of the art analysis will make a good start.
QGA
RS93 One of the world's strongest players and a renowned expert in the QGA is simply blown away here. White unveils an important new idea which puts Black under long-term pressure. This is just what White needed in this line.
RS94 Two super-GMs in innovative 1999 action debate a new idea which will soon become another topic of hot theoretical debate. Get one step ahead of your opponents... surprise them as early as move six!
Anti-Moscow
RS95 A key new idea in a well-known position. Previously Black was feeling the heat in the Anti-Moscow; this new idea might just turn the tables.
