Two new features

Downloads

We have now introduced a download option for games with accompanying commentary and analysis.

Where you see this icon under the VCR controls of the javascript board, then click on the icon to download the game. This means you can save the games and their commentary into a chess database such as ChessBase or Chess Assistant for viewing and printing offline.

If you do not have a chess database, you can download ChessBase Reader (it`s free) by clicking on the link at chessbase.com

New online keyboard commands & Autoscroll

We have also updated a new version of the javascript games with improved keyboard commands.

Use the right and left arrow keys to go forward one move or back one move. If you view a game using these keys then the commentary will automatically scroll down the page to keep pace with the game.

Internet Explorer not Netscape

The javascript presentation of games is optimised for Internet Explorer 4 or 5 on the PC. Unfortunately Netscape struggles with the features on many sites including ours that are javascript intensive. We strongly recommend that if you currently use Netscape then you pick up or download Internet Explorer 5 (it`s free!). The javascript games presentation is also not properly supported on the Mac.
